Is It Bad to Floor the Gas Pedal in Eco Mode or Any Other Modes
This is a silly question, but is it bad to step on the gas in Eco mode or any other mode?
The mode doesn’t really matter. In general, while you probably won’t damage anything in the short term, it’s better for the long-term use of the vehicle to accelerate smoothly rather than suddenly.
Yeah, that’s how you blew the intake welds.
This makes absolutely no sense. The intake is under vacuum, not pressure, so it’s wrong to say “blow out the welds”. And the intake is plastic.
You obviously never went to Harry’s and ordered three T66 turbos with NOS and Motec system exhausts…
As long as the wheels don’t slip and the road is clear, you’ll be fine!
It doesn’t have to be a habit, the key is to make sure everything is up to operating temperature first. Starting the car and hitting the gas right away will cause more wear and tear than letting it warm up first.
No, you’re stepping on the gas all the time, you might as well use it.
It’s just bad for fuel economy.
Not good if you do it all the time. It’s good to do it occasionally.
Does anyone have a safe way to keep dirt from building up under the gas pedal? Yes, I wipe my feet and vacuum regularly. 2022 xle prime. toyota all weather wrap mats
You could use some flat plastic sheeting, which I’m sure would be considered unsafe, but I’ve never had a problem.
There is a roll of carpet protection plastic 🤷🏽♂️.
Get a cheap rubber floor mat and cut it to fit around the gas pedal and under the dash. Lay it over the existing floor mat and secure it with a couple of screws.
You may want to try cleaning your feet before you get in the car.
I use the weather technique and I’m pretty sure it’s under the pedals.
Clean your shoes before you drive?
Weathertech. Doesn’t leave a seam.
Mine does.
It’s a constant battle for me too, with my 2021.
Dude, your feet are there. Mud and stuff is going to get there no matter what.
Here’s my advice, and it’s the only way to go!
Clean them more than once a year.
You can’t get all the dirt and grime off your shoes unless you lick them clean!
When I vacuum, I use a stiff bristle brush to get the dirt and other stuff off my shoes. Helps a lot.
I told my dealer not to remove the plastic carpet protector. Also scrub with carpet cleaner and brush (stain resistant formula).
I use Weatherproof on all my vehicles and they do a great job of keeping the carpet relatively clean.
Stop walking with your feet and walk with your hands
The area around the gas pedal can get very dirty and hard to clean, especially after winter salting.
Toyota mats are cheap and don’t fit all floor spaces.
It’s an inevitable part of life.
You can buy a 12-volt car vacuum and put it next to the spare tire or where the trunk lid is. You can also buy a can of compressed air and use it to spray in places the vacuum can’t reach.
Want to use your hands? Of course it will get dirty, if you want it super clean, just clean it.
